Principals and Community Leaders Retreat 2006 August 14th, 15th and 16th Monday, August 14 2006
The Roosevelt School Family Principals Network and Boyle Heights community leaders met for three days in Palm Springs to plan collaboration efforts between community leaders and school administrators.
The goal was to devise a set of plans to support one another for the academic success of all students within the Roosevelt School Family. The participants studied student data from Roosevelt High School, explored approaches for community driven education reform for increasing student achievement (the BHLC strategy), developed methods to promote instructional leadership within the Roosevelt feeder pattern, and developed an action plan for English Learners to ensure students reclassify before entering middle school.
Our time together was valuable for establishing a partnership that is focused on the needs of Boyle Heights students.
